IBTHORPE MANOR FARM CHARACTERS
We, Joanna and Peter Jensen, bought the farm in 2006 and moved in the week before Christmas in 2008.
We had been looking for a house for nearly 2 years, and it was love at first site when we came across the farm in the summer of 2006. Ibthorpe is named after Ibba the Dane who ransacked and pillaged the place in 800 ish. Being half Danish, Peter decided it was fate that he return to the scene of his ancestors' crimes. I just loved the barns and the land, so a deal was struck.
We are stuffed full of animals - dogs, bantams, horses, ponies, sheep - so if you are allergic to any form of animal, this is not the place for you. But if you want to enjoy a little bit of old England, love animals, love the countryside, and enjoy unusual people, you won't go wrong with us.
On any day we have Buzzards and Red Kites hovering above us, and at night you may hear our resident barn owl giving his nightly hoot. It is the country, so be prepared to be woken by the beautiful song of blackbirds in the summer.
We want your time with us to be relaxed and comfortable, and that you feel Ibthorpe is as much of a home to you during your stay, as it is to us.
To find out more about the characters at Ibthorpe, visit our retail site and see them in all their glory! All our products are available online, via local boutiques and, shortly, in a supermarket near you!
